Julian stood on the wide stone porch, his drink swinging lazily in his right hand as he squinted into the glaring headlights illuminating the driveway. Behind my sedan, three heavy utility vans and a sleek black town car had pulled into a tight formation along the front lawn.
When the car door opened, Harrison Vance stepped out first, wearing a crisp charcoal suit and carrying a leather briefcase under his arm. Behind him emerged a team of four uniformed locksmiths, two armed security officers, and a representative from a local real estate asset management firm.
Julian’s smug smile slowly vanished as Harrison walked up the front steps, stepping directly into Julian’s personal space without a single glance of hesitation.
“Julian Miller?” Harrison asked, his voice ringing clearly over the distant bass of the music echoing from inside the house.
“Who the hell are you?” Julian demanded, taking a defensive step back. “This is private property. We are hosting a private gathering.”
“This property belongs entirely to Natalie Sterling,” Harrison said calmly, pulling a laminated document from his folder and presenting it to Julian’s face. “This is a certified deed of ownership, along with an immediate notice of civil trespass and a formal demand to vacate. You have never held a lease, you have never remitted rent payments, and your presence on this premises constitutes unauthorized occupancy.”…
