I paused in the hallway. For six long years, that room had held the sacred sanctuary of my marriage. Our wedding portraits. Our shared wardrobes. The nursery crib we had lovingly assembled together near the bay window just three weeks prior.
Now, I stood outside that very door holding our five-day-old daughter, listening to my husband laugh with another woman.
