My name is Margaret. I’m 81 years old, and my husband, Robert, is 84.
We’ve been married for 61 years. We have three children, seven grandchildren, and a small house where we’ve spent most of our lives.
Throughout our marriage, we never had the chance to travel together. First, the children were young. Then came work, bills, and responsibilities. Later, health problems made traveling difficult.
So when Robert suddenly suggested taking a bus trip to a seaside town, I actually laughed.
“Robert, traveling at our age?”
He took my hand and smiled.
