The family, who lived in Towanda in Bradford County, checked into the popular resort on September 21. They extended their reservation on October 5 and were scheduled to check out on October 13. Why the family had been staying at the resort for so long remains unclear.

According to CBS News Philadelphia, surveillance cameras captured the family’s movements on Sunday, October 11, just hours before the tragedy unfolded. At approximately 6:53 p.m., all three family members were seen entering their hotel room.

About an hour later, a woman appeared to leave the room to use a microwave. Later that night, the couple visited the resort’s arcade before returning to their room at approximately 11:22 p.m.

It was the last time surveillance cameras documented the family’s movements before police arrived the following afternoon. By then, the father and his little boy were dead.
