I Farmed Beside Dad for 22 Years, but He Left All 400 Acres to My Brother Then Planting Season Exposed What the Will Couldn’t

I stared at him.

“Phil—”

“You manage the farm. Bring your cattle back. Pay reasonable rent on my share. I’ll put the rental income back into machinery and improvements.”

“That doesn’t sound like much of a deal for you.”

He smiled sadly.

“Wade, I sell insurance. I have a pension. I’m not asking the farm to support me.”

He looked at the farmhouse.

“I just don’t want it to disappear.”

Then he added something unexpected.

“But there’s one condition.”

“What?”

“I want to spend one week here every spring.”

I frowned.

“Doing what?”

“Planting.”

I stared at him.

Phil looked embarrassed.

“I want to drive a tractor on Dad’s land. Just once every year. And I want my little brother to tell me whether I’m doing it right.”

I felt my throat tighten.

Then I held out my hand.

“Deal.”

He shook it.
