I married a complete stranger who was dying of cancer on his birthday to fulfill his final wish. But after his funeral, his lawyer knocked on my door and said, “He made me wait until today to tell you WHO HE REALLY WAS.”

👉🥺💔 I married a complete stranger who was dying of cancer on his birthday to fulfill his final wish. But after his funeral, his lawyer knocked on my door and said, “He made me wait until today to tell you WHO HE REALLY WAS.” 😨💔

For three years, I volunteered with a local hospice support program.

Three times a week, I visited seriously ill patients. I brought them food, helped clean their homes, picked up their medications, or simply sat beside them when loneliness became harder to endure than the pain itself.

That was how I met William Carter.

He was fifty-six years old, had terminal cancer, and lived alone in a modest, almost empty house on the outskirts of the city.

The first time I walked inside, I noticed that the living room contained only a couch, an old table, and a chessboard placed beside the window. There were no family photographs on the walls.
