My daughter convinced me to go on vacation to the seaside: “All inclusive, Mom, you won’t have to do a thing.” I paid for the tickets myself. Upon arrival, I discovered I’d be staying with my grandchildren, while she and my son-in-law would be in a different building.

After breakfast, the search for sunscreen, hats, and arm warmers began.

It turned out that Mark had forgotten to bring his glasses, and Sofia didn’t want to go to the pool without her favorite doll.

The kids’ club opened at 10:00. I was hoping to spend at least a few quiet hours by the sea.

But when the cheerleader extended her hand to Mark, the boy got scared, hugged me and started crying.

I had to stay with him at the kids’ pool.

I sat on the edge of the lounger, holding his towel, and watched him carefully descend the steps into the water. My knees ached so badly from the heat that even climbing up and down the pool steps was difficult.

I tried several times to find a comfortable position, but each time one of the children called out to me.Anna and David arrived around eleven o’clock. They were well-rested, smelling of perfume, and holding mugs of coffee.
