CONTINUATION
I froze.
“Do you have another woman?”
He lowered his head.
“There’s someone you know nothing about. And tomorrow, you’re going to meet her.”
Tears streamed down my face.
“You brought me all this way just to tell me you don’t love me anymore?”
Robert reached for my hand, but I pulled away.
“Mary, I’ve been hiding something from you for ten years.”
Suddenly, his phone rang.
A young girl’s photograph appeared on the screen.
The name underneath made my knees go weak.
“My Daughter Emily.”
But we didn’t have a daughter named Emily.
We had three children: David, Sarah, and Michael.
“Robert, explain this. Right now!”
He stared at the ocean.
“Ten years ago, I met a woman named Jennifer through work. She was thirty-two. I made a terrible mistake.”
My heart pounded.
I was fifty-one at the time, struggling with my weight while Robert constantly criticized my appearance.
