My 5-year-old daughter suddenly died in the hospital — then a nurse secretly handed me a flash drive and a note that said, “Watch the security footage. Don’t trust your husband.”

Then they entered Emily’s room together.

Seven minutes later, Daniel came out holding our daughter’s favorite pink blanket.

And he was smiling.

My hands began shaking.

Why was he smiling when our daughter was supposedly dying?

Suddenly, the nurse who had given me the flash drive appeared on the screen. She confronted Daniel, looking horrified.

He grabbed her arm and said something angrily.

Then the recording ended.

I couldn’t sleep.

The next morning, I called the nurse, Rebecca, using the number written on the note.

When she answered, she whispered, “Did you watch it?”

“Yes! Please tell me what happened to my daughter!”

“Meet me at the café across from the hospital. Come alone.”

An hour later, Rebecca handed me a sealed envelope.

Inside was a hospital document bearing Emily’s name.

My eyes stopped on two words:

TRANSFERRED — ALIVE.

I stared at Rebecca.

“What does this mean?”
