My Grandma Lived Alone for 23 Years, Yet Every Sunday She Set the Table for 7 People. My Father Refused to Visit Her for 23 Years. One Day, She Said, “Today, They’re Finally Coming.” But When I Saw Who Was Standing Behind the Door, I Was Horrified…

A heavy silence filled the kitchen.

David closed his eyes.

“That’s not true, Lily.”

“So you lied to me?”

The man nodded.

“Yes.”

Lily burst into tears.

“I’m thirty-one years old. For thirty-one years, I’ve believed my father abandoned me.”

At that moment, Grandma suddenly lifted her head.

“But there’s still something none of you know.”

She took another piece of paper from the old envelope.

It was a letter from Sarah.

But this letter carried a much later date, six years after Lily’s birth.

Grandma began reading.

Sarah had written that after disappearing, she had received treatment for a long time and eventually tried to find her daughter.

But David had told her that the child was living with her father and that they shouldn’t disturb them.

David turned pale.

“Margaret, where did you get that letter?”

“Sarah sent it to me. She realized you’d lied to her, too.”
